Where to Stay for a BRG Da Nang Golf Trip: On-Course Villas, Beach Resorts, or the City

Where to stay for a BRG Da Nang golf trip comes down to one trade-off: a 15-minute walk to the first tee, a 10-minute drive from a nicer resort, or a 20-minute ride from a cheaper room in the city. I’ve played the Jack Nicklaus-designed course at BRG Da Nang enough times, carrying my 12-handicap around its 7,075 championship yards, to know which of those three trade-offs actually matters and which one is just marketing copy.

Why Your BRG Da Nang Golf Trip Lodging Choice Matters

BRG Da Nang sits on coastal terrain about 20 minutes from both downtown Da Nang and Da Nang International Airport (DAD), that’s the site’s own published distance, and it’s the number every lodging decision here works around. My preferred tee time at this course is the 6:00–6:30 AM window, before the heat index climbs and before the wind picks up off the coast. If your hotel is 20-25 minutes away in city traffic, that means leaving before 5:40 AM. If you’re staying on the same street as the course, you can sleep an extra 25 minutes and still be on the range with time to spare.

I’ve reviewed the full course layout, Par 72, 7,075 yards from the tips, green fees running $80-$130 depending on season, caddie included, cart an extra $20, in my full BRG Da Nang review. If you’re still deciding between BRG and the course up the coast, I’ve also broken that down head-to-head in BRG Da Nang vs. Montgomerie Links. This guide assumes you’ve already picked BRG and just need to figure out where to sleep.

Dave’s Take ⛳
I’ll be straight with you here: I’ve played BRG Da Nang enough rounds to trust my read on the course, but I haven’t stayed overnight at every property below, and I haven’t personally verified today’s exact room rates at each one. What follows is built from what I’ve observed staying and eating in this corridor, plus verified location data, not a blow-by-blow room review of each hotel. Rates and availability can change, so treat the tiers below as a starting point, not a locked quote.

Option 1: Stay Right Beside the Course, The Point at BRG Da Nang

The Point is a pool-villa project built directly on Truong Sa street in Hoa Hai ward, literally beside the BRG Da Nang golf course, close enough that you can walk from the villa gate to the first tee in roughly 15 minutes. It’s a real, actively-marketed property: three separate independent hotel-review channels published coverage of it within the past month, and it’s bookable through both Agoda and Booking.com, which tells you it’s not some obscure listing that’ll disappear by the time you land.

For a golf-first trip, this is the tier that removes the most friction. No taxi booking the night before, no worrying about Da Nang’s morning traffic on Vo Nguyen Giap, no rushing a 5:30 AM breakfast. You wake up, you’re on the range. If your whole trip is built around playing BRG Da Nang two or three days in a row, which is common on a 5-day Central Vietnam golf swing, the villa’s private pool also solves the “what do I do at 1 PM after 18 holes in the heat” problem better than a generic hotel room does.

Check current availability and villa layouts on Agoda or compare nightly rates on Booking.com before you commit, pool-villa inventory here is smaller than a 300-room resort, so it sells out faster during the November-to-February peak season than the beach strip does.

Option 2: The Non Nuoc Beach Resort Strip (Hyatt Regency / Marriott / Sheraton)

A few minutes’ drive up the same Truong Sa corridor, on Non Nuoc Beach, sits Da Nang’s cluster of international beach resorts: Hyatt Regency Danang Resort & Spa, Danang Marriott Resort & Spa, and Sheraton Grand Danang Beach Resort & Spa. All three sit on the same stretch of coast, roughly a 10-minute drive from the BRG clubhouse and from Montgomerie Links as well, which matters if you’re splitting your trip between the two courses.

I’d point a couple toward this tier if one of you is golfing and the other isn’t. Full-service resort amenities, multiple pools, spa, kids’ clubs at some properties, beachfront breakfast, solve the “what does my non-golfing partner do all day” question that a standalone villa doesn’t. The trade-off is exactly what it sounds like: you’re trading that 15-minute walk for a 10-minute car ride, twice a day, every day you play.

I’ve already broken down specific room rates and stay-and-play packages for the wider Da Nang golf-resort market, Hoiana, Laguna, Vinpearl, in my best golf resorts near Da Nang guide, so I won’t re-quote pricing here that I can’t verify fresh for this specific corridor today. What I can tell you with confidence: compare hotel reviews and current resort room categories on TripAdvisor before booking any of the three, since rates on this beachfront resort strip move seasonally and a same-week Agoda or Booking.com price can beat the resort’s own site by a meaningful margin.

Option 3: Mid-Range on the Same Corridor, KOI Resort & Residence

If the beach-resort brand names above are outside your budget but you still want to stay on the Truong Sa corridor rather than commute from downtown, KOI Resort & Residence sits on the same street, closer to the mid-range end of the market. It won’t have the full spa-and-multiple-restaurant footprint of the international chains next door, but it keeps you inside that same 10-to-15-minute window from the BRG clubhouse, which is the number that actually determines your morning.

A solo golf trip, or a group of buddies who don’t need resort-scale amenities and would rather put the savings toward green fees, caddy tips, or an extra round, fits this tier best. Compare current rates on Agoda against the beach-resort strip above, during shoulder season the gap can be big enough to fund an entire extra round at BRG.

Option 4: Da Nang City Center, Cheaper, Further, More Nightlife

The fourth option is skipping the golf corridor entirely and basing yourself in Da Nang city center, the Han River / Hai Chau district area, closer to the airport and to the city’s restaurant and nightlife scene. This is the tradeoff that costs you the most transfer time: the course review I published already states BRG Da Nang sits about 20 minutes from downtown, and in real Da Nang traffic during the 7-8 AM commute window, that 20 minutes can stretch to 25-30.

I’d only recommend this tier if golf isn’t the entire point of your trip, if you’re mixing in a couple of non-golf days around Han River, Dragon Bridge, and the night market, and you’d rather absorb the extra commute time than pay resort-strip prices for days you’re not playing. If BRG Da Nang is your main event for 3+ rounds, the extra 15-20 minutes each way adds up to a lost hour of sleep or range time across a golf trip, which is a real cost even if the room rate looks better on paper.

Pro Tip 🏋
Whichever tier you pick, book your first tee time before you book your hotel, not after. Early slots (6:00-6:30 AM) at BRG Da Nang fill up fastest in peak season, and knowing your tee time locks in whether the extra 20 minutes from downtown is a minor inconvenience or a genuine problem for that specific morning.

Dave’s Booking Strategy

I book almost everything through Agoda or Booking.com rather than a resort’s own site, mainly because free cancellation matters more on a golf trip than on a normal vacation, weather, flight changes, and course closures for maintenance are all real risks in Central Vietnam, and a non-refundable direct-booking rate turns any of those into a lost deposit.

Booking ApproachLead TimeCancellation FlexibilityBest Fit
Book 60+ days out on Agoda/Booking.comLongUsually free cancellation up to 24-48hPeak season (Nov-Feb), on-course villas
Book 2-3 weeks outMediumMixed, check per listingBeach resort strip, mid-range
Book last-minute (under 1 week)ShortOften non-refundable onlyOff-peak/monsoon months, flexible travelers

For the on-course villa tier specifically, I’d lock in 60+ days ahead if you’re traveling November through February, that’s peak season for Central Vietnam golf, and villa inventory at a small property like The Point is nowhere near as deep as a 300-room beach resort’s.

FAQ

What is the best place to stay near BRG Da Nang Golf Resort?

For golf-first trips, staying at The Point right beside the course removes the most morning friction, roughly a 15-minute walk to the first tee. For trips balancing golf with a non-golfing partner or family, the Non Nuoc beach resort strip (Hyatt Regency, Marriott, Sheraton) about 10 minutes away offers more amenities.

How far is BRG Da Nang from Da Nang airport, and does it matter for hotel choice?

BRG Da Nang sits about 20 minutes from Da Nang International Airport (DAD), the same distance as from downtown. That distance mostly matters for your arrival day; once you’re settled, your hotel’s distance from the course, not the airport, drives your daily schedule.

Can I walk from my hotel to the first tee at BRG Da Nang?

Only from the immediate corridor, The Point, on the same street as the course, is roughly a 15-minute walk to the clubhouse. Every other tier on this list requires a short drive or taxi.

Is it better to stay on the beach strip or right next to the course?

It depends on how many rounds you’re playing and who’s traveling with you. For 3+ rounds with early tee times, the on-course villa saves real time and sleep. For a mixed golf-and-beach trip, especially with a non-golfing partner, the beach resort strip’s amenities are worth the extra 10-minute drive.

Do BRG Da Nang area hotels offer stay-and-play golf packages?

Some of the beach resorts and villa properties on this corridor bundle green fees with room rates seasonally, check current package listings directly on Agoda or Booking.com for the specific dates of your trip, since these packages change with season and course availability.

Dave’s Final Verdict

If BRG Da Nang is the reason for your trip, book The Point or another villa on the same street, the sleep and transfer time you save across multiple rounds is worth more than the resort amenities you give up. If you’re traveling with someone who isn’t golfing, spend the extra 10 minutes in the car and take the Non Nuoc beach strip instead. Either way, book your tee times first, then match your hotel tier to how many rounds you’re actually playing, not to which resort has the best pool photos.

My parents left Da Nang decades before this golf corridor existed, and every time I book a room on this stretch of coast I’m reminded my mother’s old neighborhood is a short drive from where international hotel chains now compete for beachfront. That contrast is part of why I keep coming back to write about this specific stretch of Vietnam rather than just the golf.
